Unhappy Delamination problem-any suggestions on repair?

I have a '99 Beaver Contessa class A motorhome. I have a 2x2 foot rise on the fiberglass side between a bathroom window and the access cover for the refrigerator. It certainly appears to be a delamination. Initial inspection did not reveal any obvious problems that would cause a water issue. Would anyone have a suggestion as too how to repair it. Or does anyone know of a good repair facility in the Michigan/Ohio/ Indiana area?

Hi Richdonel,
Welcome to iRV2. In Nappanee, Indiana, Newmar does this work on all coach brands. Their number is 800-731-8300.

In Bremen (Near Nappanee) there is Precision Painting. Their contact number is 866-909-4473.

In Bremen there is also Mikes Custom Painting. Their contact number is 574-546-2161.

I have used Newmar and Precision. I recommend them both. I have never used Mike. Other club members have and recommend him.

The repair is conceptually simple. You somehow get a good glue behind the outer fiberglass skin and then it down flat and clamp it in place to dry. The details of how to achieve that can be difficult.

One technique is to drill numerous small holes in multiple rows a few inches apart and inject adhesive in each row until you see it begin to run out the next lower one. Another is is to make a shallow (kerf) cut around the raised area and remove it. Clean the area, apply adhesive and replace. You can use a contact adhesive with this technique, which makes it easier to clamp.

In both of these, you are left with holes or lines that have to be filled to the level of the surrounding fiberglass and then painted to match.

Richdonel, As GaryKD said all 3 are good shops. I use Newmar for 95% of maintenance pay a little more, but who better than people who build MH for a living.
I am having fiberglass work done by Newmar September 1st of this year.
I would give all 3 a call and than make a trip to the Nappanee, IN area as all 3 are located in a 20 mile range and have them quote prices.
