My brother whom drives 18 wheel rigs everyday (5 days ) and his buddies told me the exact same thing.
""drive it like you stole it". "get in a slam it to the floor."
Since I have been driving mine, not ever start is to the floor, don't do that all the time, but don't be afraid to put your foot in it.. As long as your rpm is going up with throttle floored, your ok. if you rpm is steady or dropping go to next lower gear or it may heat up.
Don't be afraid to put your foot in it. you can't hurt it like a gas engine.
It has an over rev governor.
so that's my opinion and how I drive mine. it's what works for me.
