Actually, just the Senate. The House hasn't voted yet, but is supposed to today (maybe).

It looks like a done deal as the House and the Prez are in favor of the delay.

This is going to be interesting as a goodly number of stations have already ditched their analog equipment and have done an early transition. If there isn't already wide spread mayhem in their broadcast areas what is all the hoopla about? The early transitions have been taking place for over a month now so there has been plenty of time for people to react to it but so far nary a whimper is being heard at my desk.

Geeze! How is it possible that we have hired such a bunch of idiots as our employees?!?
Year after year we send the same brainless folks back to Congress and expect different results! We need term limits and age limits to protect ourselves from our own stupidity!

Guess it wasn't a done deal after all. The House did not pass the bill to delay. So everything is still on for a Feb conversion.

Political football again.

Sorry FlyingDiver. I posted before I saw your article.

I think it said they're going to vote again next week (maybe). Which means it'll be 2 weeks or less between the vote and the cutoff. Even if they pass it to delay the deadline, I'll bet that majority of broadcasters will cut off analog anyway on the 17th. They don't HAVE to continue broadcasting analog, and not doing so will cost them money.
Funny, I know some places switched early. I don't recall any outcry from people there.

Well it looks like they did vote again and it wont happen until June. Even tho they never sent the coupons they said I would get by the first week in Jan. I still think it was a dumb idea to give any coupons now the stations will continue broadcasting in both systems. I think that is a waste of resources. I'll either pay the full price or wait to pick up one from the people who speculated for two when they only needed one but sell for less than the stores. Or maybe wait for a little and buy a new TV.

I know of several of the "unfortunate" that are on cable, but got the government coupon to buy the boxes to resale on ebay and craigs list for a profit. That aside I wish they would go ahead with the change, I am in the deep frige area of reception (anntenaweb says I should not be getting any channels) A lot of the analog channels I get are from different towers than the digital signals for the same stations, so I have to bump the antenna several degrees to get different stations. It is rummored that the digital signal will move back to where the original analog stations are, and maybe with more power. A lot of the digital channels are presently on UHF, which is harder to pick up. After the transition a lot of them are to move back to VHF, which is easier to receive.
