FYI...... I just called Canada on an 1800 number to verify that I can still take my shotgun thru Canada and up to Alaska on a pending trip this spring/summer. The man I talked to said they would be glad to send me the proper forums (in triplicate) for me to fill out concerning the shotgun. He requested that I not sign the forums until I got to the Port of Entry to declare the shotgun. He said there was a 25 dollar ''registration fee'' for the gun and I could bring as many ''legal guns'' as I wished for the same 25 dollar registration fee. If you need the number it is 1 800 731 4000 and they will be glad to answer any question concerning firearms and they do it in plain english and you dont have to fumble thru pages and pages of confusing regulations.
For simplification I carry the same shotgun every time. They already have it on record and I have yet to have a problem....
The registration is good for 90 days and you can renew it free if necessary ....
