If you like trains, try Anvil Campground in Williamsburg, VA. Major line carrying coal trains and Amtrak runs about 20 feet behind the back row of sites.

Grew up near trains, so it's soothing to me. Needless to say doesn't bother me a bit.

I don't know if he's the first to try it or not, but since I'm not having this problem with any other pages here I wondered if there could be a connection.
Francesca, by george I think you nailed it, page 5 is normal now

The video link I was referring to is the one Palehorse first tried to upload directly to this site in post #34...he succeeded in post #39, and it was after that that I started having problems.

The site-direct upload is different from the Youtube links we've been posting forever and a brand new feature here at IRV2...that's what led me to wonder if there was any connection to the antics the software is going through with this particular thread.

On the other hand, the BBQ possibilities are endless, right?

Little off topic but it reminds of what happened to me a few years ago in my older MH. We had pulled in to countryside RV park for an overnight stay one spring day. Got up in the morning and went outside to sit on the picnic table and drink my morning coffee. A farmer was across the way plowing a field. The light breeze changed direction and a slight smell of ammonia was in the air. I am thinking the farmers mixing in fertilizer in the adjacent field. After a few more minutes the smell is getting stronger. I was thinking I don't want to stay here again.

Then I realized it was my Dometic refrigerator was leaking. Opened the outside refrigerator cover and yellow stuff everywhere. Then 2 neighbors came by telling me I stink. I turned it off and broke out the grill. Yum, steak and eggs for breakfast. I gained 5 Lbs cleaning out the fridge.

Bought a 12 volt cooler for the rest of the trip and had it repaired when I got back home. Dometic paid 100% to replace the coils.

The problem was with a video imbed error in post 46 & then it quoted in subsequent posts. It's been fixed.

Just remembered the Camp Ground with the pig farm:
Sun & Fun CG on Fruitville Rd, Sarasota, Fl. Nice park, just do not get stuck in the back part, the hog issue will tell and not give you the pork roost thoughts, just how to cancel and get refund for unused days.
Cheers
Dave

Bought a house a couple of blocks from a track crossing once and the constant train horns drove us crazy. Sold it a year later and will never again spend the night anywhere near train tracks again. Absolutely hate trains.

Unhappy RE: camping & trains....

We often stayed at the now-closed Okefenokee campground just north of the FL border off Rte's 301 & 1 in GA. This lovely (& Passport America) place was graced by two sets of double RR tracks on both the north & south side of the CG that "enlightened & entertained" the campers to the tune of 40+ freighters EVERY DAY INCLUDING WEEKENDS & HOLIDAYS.

Wot sweet music to our ears to lull us off to sleep -- whilst the RVing newcomers to the place just pi$$ed & moaned about all that noise....

I guess they finally won out -- the campground closed forever in 2008. What a shame to camping in rural America!

It seems that every Good Sam's approved campground has trains nearby.
