Ooh, that had to be nasty to clean up. I wonder if we also have a child lock. Does it lock up the doors or just the buttons on the front panel.

We have a Maytag residential fridge (Newmar standard for all-electric). It has a little slider thing between the bottom of the french doors and the freezer pullout.

That would be nice, but I don't think ours has that. We have the Frigidaire 3 door one. Really nice fridge though. It came with four clamps in place and two black bungee cords to secure the top doors and the freezer. Only problem is securing things inside. We bought some of the RV fridge bars, but they are hard to make them fit because of the width.

We put non-skid mats on the shelves, and that seems to prevent most of the movement. Smaller stuff to the back so the larger items keep them from coming off the shelves. Still, first time opening after any rough roads is always a crap-shoot.

It's that waffle-weave kind of stuff you find at Walmart or Target. We do empty the fridge a couple times a year to clean the shelves and wash the mats...

I know exactly what you are talking about. I bought some to line the bottom of my toolbox' drawers. I just never thought about using them inside the fridge, which is brilliant. As a matter of fact, I have a left over roll somewhere in the garage.

All furniture is fastened to the floor in our MH. Nothing is left sitting out, for previously assigned reasons.

I use pool noodles cut to the appropriate size ... crosswise in the reefer between the "stuff" and the door. Same thing in large cabinets. Stowed in basement while at a site.

The one "physics" thing to bear in mind is that the weight of the item doesn't enter into the "will it fly off" equation. The inertial effect of the items weight makes it go and the friction between the item and whatever it's standing on keeps it in place.

Both these effects are proportional to weight, so a light item and something like a sofa will both have the same tendency to take off in a sudden deceleration (like a collision).

Obviously, the damage that items of different weights can do when they hit you in the head varies with weight.

If in doubt, keep things restrained. IMO, ALL furniture should be bolted down.
