Does Biobor JF expire?

Searched threads here & also read the pdf sheet on Biobor's website. Can't find if this stuff has an expiration date.

This is our 1st year winterizing a diesel. I can get Biobor JF from Amazon for a bit less than anywhere local.

Local stores stock the 8oz or 16oz bottles. Our Phaeton is 100gal tank, so the 8oz would do 6 years of winterizing. The 16oz would do 12 years.

Amazon also has a 4oz which would do at least 3 years of winterizing, but costs more than the 8oz bottle.

If there's an expiration date on this stuff, I'd bite the bullet & get the 4oz just so I don't waste it. But if not, I'll get the bigger bottle & know I'm good for over a decade.

I think it’s wise to use on any fill-up where temperatures are warm..... not just for “winterizing”. You can get fuel which is contaminated, and you can also get condensation in your tank anytime the tank is less than full....(condensation is ripe conditions for nasty stuff growing in fuel)

It might expire by vaporization in an open container, but in a closed container I think not. At least I hope not.

To answer your question, Biobar JF does not expire as long as the container is kept tightly sealed. The military uses it to treat all the diesel used in their vehicles and I have seen 55 gal drums of it sitting in storage facilities for years.

That said, it is not intended as a winterizing only product. It is intended to be used any time fuel is added. I personally add about 1 oz to the filler tube each time I take on fuel and my old fuel filters are clean when they are replaced each year. 1 oz treats up to 80 gallons of fuel.

....except my intent was to get across the point that if using it regularly as is intended, your supply won’t last long enough to worry about it expiring... lol
