Setting a t'stat lower will not make the run runn any faster or cool faster.

Maybe I didnt explain correctly. The compressor wont run as long a period before not coming on after a cycle. I understand it doesnt make it blow harder or cooler. I do hvac her at my shop for autos. Rooftops are something new to me. But I do thank you for your reply

If you have this control the number that you input on display, set to cool, will be what the AC try for. There will be a delay before compressor will come on than it will also cycle on and off until it reaches temp that you set on display.
There is a sensor within the control and in your bedroom there will be a white bubble sensor on the wall for that AC.

I have an older coach. 1990. I have a digital display whenthe a/c compressor cycles off it will not go back on and is when the a/c flashes. Guess I should have been a bit more forward with that info. DUH is a day lol thanks again

In general the thermostats supplied with the RV by the manufacturers are pretty poor on repeatibility. The last couple of RV's we have had, I replaced the standard t'stat with a Hunter from Walmart fro less than $25.00. They work great.

Has the unit possibly frozen the coil whe you try to run it longet anf it has to defrost a bit before it can restart. Are both the condenser and evaporatror coil clean?
