With Rusty's and Max's update it is obvious to me that Dometic is CYA mode and not doing a very good job at that. I would suggest that everyone who has been touched by this send Dometic a Registered letter letting them know that they are still on the HOOK for product liability.

When I took it in for the mod, they determined I was leaking Ammonia (green residue on the heater flu). My unit was just under 5 years old and they replaced the cooling unit. I had to pay 2 hours extra for labor.

What amazes me is they don't put the kit on the new cooling unit-- Why not? My replaced unit, now, looks exactly like yours looked before the mod was done.

I understand that newer units have only a 3 year replacement warranty. My friend with an

This is exactly why, the 1st thing I did when I got my rig home, was reg. the fridge online, and bot their extended 3 year full factory for $245.00. Now I have a full 6 YEAR factory warranty on our fridge. Robbie
