I would appreciate any comments on the Doran tire monitoring system from folks who have tested it. Would a 42'MH with a toad need an external antenna? Thanks in advance for your replys.

We have Advantage Pressure Pro. Beleive they are the same product. We had to put the antena in the basement bay, mid way back, for the signal from the tow to read properly. It took awhile to get everything set properly, early on they had some trasmitter problems, but they worked with us very well, even sent new sensors to Seattle, Wa when we were traveling. Have had no problems for over a year. Prior to having these, we had several blow outs, now we have pressures and weights all worked out. We are very glad for this monitoring. Joe hard wired the dash read out into the dash and mounted an on/off switch on the dash. Works great.

We've had the system for a year in our 35 footer. Earlier models of Pressure Pro had some radio/antenna problems but ours has an improved built-in antenna (standard - not an add-on) that works great. It picks up the sensors on our toad even when it is parked 20-30 feet away from the coach. I know several people with 40 footers with the same experience.
My guess is that you will not have any problem with your 42 footer, but it depends on a lot of factors such as where you mount the display and what sources of interefrence there may be in your rig.

Pressure Pro makes the system, Doran and Advantage distribute it. Same system, different dealers.
We have had ours for about two years and highly recommend it. Use it on a 36ft DP with Jeep toad. Total of ten sending units. No problems other than an installer malfunctin (never mind who the installer was ), which the folks at Doran were kind enough to talk with me, walk me through undoing what I did and then do it right, and not laugh at the same time.
I think on the 42ft MH you will need the external antennae but is still and reportedly is an easy install and works fine for those that use it.
Good Luck

I use this, recently added the external antenna to be able to constantly pick up the trailer. Before would lose signal from them. May have something to do with location of the original antenaa. Otherwise has already caught two tires losing air. I recomend it
