We are 75 and think we should think about . getting smaller MH. Drive a 36 footer. My concern is after all the space how well do you adapt to smaller than 30. I still want class A. Love the big windshield view

What handling issues are you having with driving your current 36 footer? Or in other words what are you trying to fix by going to a smaller coach?

Guess, thinking smaller less stress to drive and could do without toad. Didn't take toad on our trip to Montreal and Cape.
cod last Sep and found it easier. Thinking maybe we could keep our MH travels going a little longer if we downsized.

I would say since you are still wanting a class a 4or5 feet isn't going to make much difference driving or setting up.

If you don't want to tow a car you might want to look at something like the Itaska Ryeo or Winnabago Vieo. Theses are both 25 ft and I have seen them parked at some mall parking lots (not over night) for shopping. They take up two spots.
Much bigger and I would think you would have trouble finding parking in small towns, independent stores, and restaurants.

Hi brabono,
If the reason to downsize is to not take a toad, then the class B coaches might be something to consider. How about renting a car, when you need one? As to the coach itself, I've driven all sizes of coaches. For me there is no difference due to size. Consider keeping what you have and for a year of two try renting a car. Enterprise will come to where you are.

Have you looked at the Itasca Sunstar 27N? Opens up to a nice floor plan and small enough to get most anywhere. We have the little 26H, bought just for the reasons you posted and love it. Only issue some might have is the bedroom is a bit tight. We love the big windshield view too.

We did go without toad last trip and either rented car from Enterprise or took tours. Worked fine. Just have to do more planning. We unusually fly by the seat of our pants LOL, but find we are not as easy going as we use to be

There are some short class A coaches out there. Ours is a 27 ft. Allegro. We tow and don't feel the toad behind.

Maybe consider renting something smaller so you can get an idea of driving before doing anything with your present rig. Space & storage will be dependent on specific models so maybe touring RV shows is in your future to review different brands.

My step dad drove a 26 ft. class C until he was 89 and he did great. He also towed a Geo Metro or Ranger pickup most of the time. That's a pretty big step down from what you mare used to though.
