Our neighbor has a 2001 Monaco Windsor. Can't "air up" front air bags with either on board compressor or external air. Any diagnostics and/or solutions out there?

I do not know how this coach's air system works. This has happened to me. My signature coach will not air up sometimes. For me, the fix that works every time is to raise the coach with the jacks, almost all the way. Start the engine. Wait about 15 to 30 seconds and store the jacks, with the engine running.

What I've been told happens is that sometimes the lever that tells the coach it is okay to put air into the bags gets stuck in a position that says the bags have the correct amount of air in them. By raising the coach, starting the engine and then storing the jacks, allows the chassis to move through the okay zone into the zone requiring air in the bags, while the compressor is running.

I have no idea if this will work for you, but it is easy to try and cheap if it works. My standard procedure is to start the engine first; then store the jacks. So far, no additional failures have occurred.

jfb...Can they hear if air is going in and right back out? Maybe they left the air valves open after dumping air out the last time.

Follow-up on air bag problem. Determined that the check valve that prevents air bag air loss in a system failure was corroded and inoperative. Bypassed the valve as a temporary fix. Thanks for your responses!
