Drinking water
On those rare occasions that we're connected to real city water, we'll drink that. But most of the time where we're camping, it doesn't taste good, even with an inline house filter.
These days, I'm feeling guilty buying and then throwing away cases of bottled water. What does everyone do for drinking water in their motor home?

Bottled water fro drinking, cooking and coffee. Empties go into recycle bin.
No guilt and no bad tastes.

Consider something like a water cooler. There are countertop models, floor models, and hand pump models you can put anywhere. You can get 3 or 5 gallon models, and they are exchangeable/refillable at walmarts and other locations. Saves on the plastic waste

Most of the time we use what the campground supplies. I kind of like the slight differences in taste. BUT then there are the really bad city waters, and we break out the bottled water.

Learned long time ago to bring water just in case camp water is either bad or for some reason has to be turned off. Sanitize system twice a year. Most of the time we use camp water when available.

We have an on board RO with 5 stages
Plus the OEM combination particulate/carbon filter
Most of the add on filters are single stage and unless they contain silver don't do anything for bacteria
When carbon filters are consumed and bacteria is growing there you don't know unless you are on chlorinated water and the taste comes through
Luckily most all of the US has properly treated water supplies
Many smaller well systems are untreated
Only about 10% of the country has low hardness and overall great quality water
Iron, sulphur, high sodium, high hardness. Sulphate and sulphur, are all issues folks that have traveled around encounter
Water quality is decreased yearly in many areas due to increased usage
Remember when the only water in a container on the shelf was distilled and usually for the steam iron?
Now many stores have an aisle of water and we have trillions of plastic bottles and many used by folks that don't know what trash receptacles are for
Nothing wrong with bottled water, usually the problem is the consumer but doesn't that also cover many other things?

We use a inline filter just before the fresh water inlet on the coach and I installed something very similar to this under the sink.

We do still carry bottle water but this has definitely cut down on bottle waste considerably.

Wouldn't feel guilty. Recycle them. But we fill gallon jugs at home with filtered water from house and take them. Then save empties to reuse next time.

Under sink filter
We do drink water from our tank. We have a whole house filter for everything that goes into the tank and lines. I don’t fill from the gravity fill location. I installed a 0.5 micron 3US-MAX-S01H under sink just for drinking water and ice maker. We always ask about and sample the water at new locations before filling tank. We will sanitize start of season and a 2nd time if we haven’t used coach for more 5 or 6 weeks.
We do carry bottles just in case as well.

Even with the installed whole-coach filter, we have a Zero pitcher for drinkable water. I also bring bottled (we recycle the empties) because we are often out & about & want easily portable drinks with us.
