I have an 06 Fleetwood Expedition with A&E awning over drivers door (plus one on patio).

The door awning has been out less than a dozen times since new but has now refuses to retract.

I can here something clicking but nothing moves.

I cant believe it is the gears which have sheared as we hardly ever use the door awning - perhaps 10-15 times at most in 3 years.

Ideas ?

Be sure voltage is good. If so you could have a weak current limiter. If you look closely at the rear of the roller tube, you will see a set of adjustments. One is for extending and the other is for retracting the awning. The proper setting would be so that the awning does not over extend and does not close too tightly. A slight adjustment of the retract adjustment may bring the awning back in.

Mike

Thanks for the reply.

Voltage is good and if I press to extend (even when extended) it clicks very loudly as if trying to extend.

When I press Retract, I can see the barrel try to move (it gives a very small judder) but nothing happens.

Sorry to sound stupid, but how do I access this on an Elite Door Awning?

Do I have to remove screws and lift the whole awning forward or is it something I can see easily.

Its obviously too high to see from the ground so can it be seen looking down from the roof?

Guess I will have to source some ladders otherwise.

Paul

Paul, you will need a ladder. the adjustment screws are on the rear end of the awning and can be access without removing anything. They are very small but at the end of the tube you should be able to see them.
