Has anyone looked or considered replacing their dual tires with a single wide tire? This is the most exciting new thing in vehicle development.

I see this on ready mix concrete trucks all the time but I am not sure why it is such an exciting development. In fact I would worry about the one tire failing and leaving me with none.

There was a widowed woman RVer on one of the mailing lists that said she needed 6 new tires. She had a gas Dolphin with a tag axle. We kept telling her she needed 8 tires for her mh but she insisted she only had 6 tires on it. She when outside and looked and found she had duals in front of the tag. She was a big city bus driver for years and was about 80 years of age. She had the coach for about 2 years and never knew her drive wheels where duals.

They do not recommend the "super single" for single axle tractors...so a single rear axle MH would not be a good canidate for a "SS".

Read all about it here, probably more than you want to know.

Back in the mid 90's Winnebago made a coach called Luxor that had these large wheels & tires on the rear. It was also a four wheel steel design. They did not make many of them.
I did some maintanance work on one and would not like to have to buy one of those tires.
