Don't know if this will be a help or not. There is a fellow that repairs the 4 button control unit. Maybe he knows something. You can contact him at William Hendrix, 1737 Holman Drive, Erie, Co, 80516. On e-mail try whendrix@aol.com. Hope you find what you are looking for.
Good luck and safe travels!

I have decided to go to a upgrade kit, that replaces the touchpad, and a new board to the upper unit..like nightriderrv had suggested...as all in all I'm not sure which board was faulty..the 3307713.028 is a upgrade kit for air conditioner models with touch pad or slide bar controls conversion to 5 button comfort control center...comes with the 2 boards and a thermostat...at not much more than the touchpad board alone..if I could have found it..Thanks to all for the help...I really like this place

touchpad

Mr hendrix has a lot of knowledge, but couldnt help me in the touchpad situation. I'm working on a IC list and likely repair of these units to shar with the board. i'm also on pilot version 2 of a wireless RF solution for the touchpad models.

ANYONE on the forum with a touchpad dometic.duotherm ac unit that decides to replace the ac unit itself for the warranty, the ease, or for colusre, please either recondier or donate the control boards and control pad for further research.

Anyone who wants to know waht I found ont he ICS thus far send me a PM.

Regards,!

the old workign t-stat in the other ac in the same coach

I saw that you are upgrading to the 5 button control center to control 2 ac units.

Assuming your touchpad was mounted in the ceiling like mine was, will you be retaining your touchpad shroud with the hole in the upper left corner of the shroud? (see attached pdf)I was asking to see if you would be willing to sell it. The shroud currently is avail without the hole, (see attached 3 thumbnails )but since my controls are still in the ceiling, I still need the hole.

Also, In looking at your keypad posts, I was curious if your second AC also had the touchpad control. It looks like you are replacing both boards and both control touchpads. Will you be selling the second touchpad?
Let me know as I would be interested in it.

Thanks

dometic duotherm penguin ii touchpad thermostat controls

Everyone, I realize this is and old thread but I thought I'd share my findings.

I was able to gather an additional control board for this rare dometic/duotherm penguin ii thermostat system.

I was able to test my keypad and the extra keypad provided by Terry W. with 2 known working control boards.

The verdict:

It appears the control boards and (not the keypad) fail. When they do they cannot send power to the keypad.

All components on the board are still available except one long ic at the upper right corner (near the 12 pin ribbon cable ) made by national semiconductor. When looking up that part number it does not come up in their database.

I have compiled a list of all relays, transistors and chips on both the keypad and board with part numbers and part sources. Feel free to send me an email.

I also have compiled dometic schematics and manuals on every version or iteration of this control system.

Although the dometic part numbers have been superceded, I have only once found this control board new and it is on ebay:

Dometic 3101597 007 AC Module Board | eBay

Here is the seller:

wegotwhatyouneedrv on eBay

I also did find a company that thinks they can repair these:

Board Repair :: Industrial Electronic Repair

In the meantime, I am working on a solution for an inexpensive easily available off the shelf replacement to control these penguin units. I will keep you posted.
