Hello everyone, I am new to your site as well as a new motorhome owner. Although mine is a older home (1988 Bounder) you have to start somewhere right. This home is in brand new condition with only 36,000 miles on it. I recently have had a electric step issue. The button that is mounted on the door frame which opperates the step was malfuntioning, so I took it out and noticed the wire was not attatched. Couldn't pull through so accesed it through the front storage area and had to add to wire, reinstalled the switch and thought I was done. Now there is no power to the switch on the dash that give the door switch the power. It aways has a light showing there's power and now there isn't. Any idea's as to wear the main switch is wired into? Please help and Thank you.

vman60, welcome to iRV2.com. We are glad to have you join us here. I am sure you will enjoy this website and forums. Congratulations on you new to you Bounder.
The steps probably have three fuses. A couple are probably located in the battery control center located on the outside of the fire wall. It is probable, that a fuse blew when the wire came off the switch. Check it with a test probe or volt meter for 12 volt power. Good luck and keep us posted.

Mr. Wizzard, I cannot find the battery control box you said was mounted on the fire wall. I see no type of fuses except for the inlink fuse and there are only a few of them under the hood. I know that switch on the dash has to be wired to something, I just can't find where? Any other suggestions? Thanks so much

Have someone push the battery disconnect switch on and off while you listen for the clicking of its operation; you will find it's location.
