I have a 2005 Coachmen Cross Country. Everything runs fine while on generator, when the rear A/C is turned on or comes back on with the thermostat the tv goes off and I have to push the power button to turn back on.
Any ideas?

Sounds like the TV is sensitive to the voltage drop that happens when the A/C comes on-line. If you have a good digital voltmeter (one with min/max hold is best) you can check how low the voltage goes. Shouldn't go below 108 volts.

You can also try plugging the TV into another outlet to see if that stops the problem.

What is the voltage out of the generator? If it is low it causes a high current draw, thus tripping the breaker.
Does everything work on shore power?

I tried it while plugged into the house and it did the same thing.

Rear AC is pulling a lot of juice on startup... could be a number of reasons, including too much head pressure (AC needs service...) Need more info..

Are you using a 20 amp connection to the house?

Are the roof units serviceable? I have heard that there is not much you can do with them. Yes it was plugged into a 20amp at the house, with the generator running I watched the voltage on one of the circuits in the MH panel drop to about 104volts when the A/C comes on.

104 is low. Dometic units are for 120, they tell you 115 for operation, and 10% off means they can run at 108 with out many issues.
Now your tv sees the same thing and drops out.
What is your voltage from the generator with the ac off?
How long of a extension cord are you using and what is the voltage off of that?

Knowing the voltages would be nice...could be build up in the gen or a connection loose causing higher resistance and thus more power draw.

As for the AC, best thing you can do at the moment is get up there, pull the shrouds, and clean the coils.. I like using a water hose followed by compressed air. See if that helps...
