Electrical issues

I was hoping I could get some help. I seem to be having a problem and not sure where to look.
1.In the spring when I brought the mh out of storage it would not start sometimes just no power at all then it would start up fine after a few tries, this seem to go away as i used the mh.
2.the power was off on the house batteries but was back feeding from the chassis battery and allowing the pump to work
3.Come fall same issue came back on the no start and then start fine
4.With the chassis battery turned off the mh would start but the step would not go in.
5.Looks like the house batteries are fried now too as they went dead with the switch turned off for themas they boiled dry, 4 6 volt batteries.
It seems there is some sort of isolation issue but not sure if it's the alternator or so e thing else. Motorhome is a 2006 ford chassis.

Sorry for the length of this post just quite a few issues which to me all seem to be linked.

Thanks

[QUOTE=howes1387;2837987]I was hoping I could get some help. I seem to be having a problem and not sure where to look.

Completely dead as in no lights on the dash when turned on, or just no starter motor actuation?

2.the power was off on the house batteries but was back feeding from the chassis battery and allowing the pump to work

Water Pump?

3.Come fall same issue came back on the no start and then start fine
4.With the chassis battery turned off the mh would start but the step would not go in.

Chassis battery is the usual source for the steps, so this would be normal.

Yes no lights on dash at all

House water pump came on with the house batteries turned off

Normal for step to not work with the chassis battery shut off but why will the coach start?

It's a good possibility that the battery boost/isolation solenoid is stuck causing the batteries to be linked together all the time. Sometimes the contacts can become welded together and stay active all the time.
