Engine buck/ skipping

Ok so when driving sometimes my engine skips or like sputters and the booster gauge drops then goes up again I will pull over shut down and start it back up and it will be fine again for even a few days.. could this be bad fuel? bad injector or something else, I have changed the fuel filters and that is not it or maybe it did not clear it self out?

Vapor lock comes to mind here. Is your coach gas or diesel? I had a car a long time ago that did that and simply loosening the gas cap fixed it. Our DP sputtered due to a clogged screen in the pick up pump. Did that anytime it was under load like going up hill though not sporadically like yours.

For any symptom like that, gas or diesel, changing the fuel filter(s) is the first step. Diesels are especially sensitive to good, strong fuel flow, because the injector pump works at such high pressure. Next step on a diesel would be the intake to the lift pump and the lift pump itself. The lift pump brings the fuel from the tank through the filters to the injector pump.

Could be a bad injector too, but the other things are all greater possibilities.

I'm going to guess that you have a diesel from the boost gauge.

If you have it "chipped" or have a after market engine controller, that is where I would start. It may be getting ready to die.

Next would be some where in the intake that is leaking boost on and off.
