Entry door inside panel replacement

Over the past couple of years I have noticed these little pointy things on the surface of the inner door panel and when I went out today to get ready for our trip next week, I found a couple of cracks, a lot more pointy things and a couple of bubbles on the surface. It doesn't seem to be wet, but mebbee it's getting water inside the door. I am thinking that I can pull it off and find what the cause is. I also thot that it wouldn't be too hard to get a piece of paneling from a lumber store and cut it to fit. Then I saw all the screws, Yikes.

I think what you are seeing is caused by the gas given off by your batteries. I'm assuming your batteries are mounted in the stepwell of your motorhome close to the door? I don't know what you can do to cure it.

I have a DP Tradewinds and the batteries are in the rear. I'm thinking that it's possible that the inner panel is metal and that could be rust popping out.
