Eternabond over bolts?

I will be removing my old Dicor and applying eternabond over the seams. The two areas I am not sure about is how to best seal over the bolts that hold the Girard awning on. They are about 1/2" in diameter and stand about 3/4" of an inch above the bracket.

I will leave the black sealant that was from the factory on the bolts but I am unsure how to properly run the tape over the bolts. I called Eternabond and they said to remove the bolts and seal underneath but that would require removing the awnings. What have others done to seal over bolts?

Also how have people sealed around the power wires that run through the bracket that connect to the bracket?

The past owner had leak issues and their answer was to just pile the Dicor on so I will take it all off and get a good seal, that's the plan...

I use nothing else ever no leak no issues.

Never worry about again.

did this on my first motorhome after about 5 years had a leak that had to be fixed went another 7 after never had a leak.

And have done it on everything else i own

Eternabond (and similar) is a great product, but it's not the answer to every sealing situation. Put some Dicor (or other quality sealant) on the bolts. Cover that with the tape if you prefer.
