I was in the Air Force in mid 60's. They sent a group of us out of basic training from San Antonio to Denver on a train. We left, rode all night, and next morning, we still hadn't left Texas yet.
Anyway, you could stand in the open air between the cars and if you stood there long enough, you could feel a mist of moisture in the air.
Wonder where that moisture came from in the middle of the dessert.🤔😷

I remember that riding the train as a kid in Alaska. You could look straight down thru it
I even remember the outside toilets, they were nothing more than a toilet in a shed pushed over a very deep pit. You could even see things moving around down in there.
