LOVE your Westie!
We purchased our 40DP new nearly five years ago and bought a 7 year extended warranty with it. We bought the EW because we were newbies and wanted peace of mind that we would not get hit with a huge repair bill.
It turns out that we were lucky and bought from a company (EZCare) which has been very easy to work with and paid every claim we've had. They work directly with the shops we've used so I've never even had to have any contact with EZCare at all.
In hindsight, I paid far too much for the EW and fell prey to having the finance manager spring this on us after we had already negotiated the price of the coach. I should have negotiated the EW too.
Would I do it all again? I really don't know. I'm more comfortable with my knowledge of my coach now but I still do like the peace of mind so I'm a bit up in the air on that subject.
Many have posted here that they would never buy an EW because you probably won't "come out ahead" and that these companies are in business to make money so they stack the deck against you. I never really understood that argument since virtually all businesses are in business to make money and I assume the insurance company which carries the policy on my coach is making money too.
Best of luck.
Rick
