Fan-Tastic

Our vent fan just quit working. The roof vent opens and closes on manual and automatic. Its just the fan wont spin in either direction.

I figure it has to be a bad connection at the motor, a bad motor or perhaps a mouse got a wire somewhere. Anyway, hoping someone with experience with these units can shed some light before I start taking it apart.

Contact FanTastic directly and have the model number and serial number of your fan and they will send you what you need free of charge. Their fans are guaranteed for life. They are located in Michigan. I don't have the number available but you could just google it.

There is a hinge switch that causes the fan to stop when you close the lid. These are easy to lose contact. It is a ground switch. If you go on top of the coach and press down on this switch and let it fly back up.(it is spring loaded) it usually starts working again. This was the problem 95% of the time.

Isn't their support amazing? I recently purchased a 13 year old motorhome with a Fantastic Fan. It looked pretty rough and the gears in the motor that raises and closes the cover were stripped so when I bought the MH I had figured I'd need to buy a new $250 fan and spend half a day putting it in. After reading this forum, I gave Fantastic Fan a call. The customer service gentleman immediately diagnosed the problem, explained in detail how to fix it, and got an IMPROVED replacement part in my hands the next day. I only paid $13 for shipping and it took me less than an hour to fix. A little cleaning and the fan looked good as new. I never expected that kind of support for a broken part in a used RV but I'll certainly look for Fantastic Fans in the future.

Yep, great support! I think I'll replace that noisey bath fan with one.

My 97 coach had one Fantastic Fan and two no-name, noisy fans, and I replaced the two no-names with Fantastic Fans. Very easy to change out and you have a quality unit that is truly usable.
