The floor wax approach is a last ditch effort for old fiberglass. It always looks better than it did, but it may eventually turn shiny and yellow.

For new fiberglass a good cleaning, polishing, and waxing will maintain the new look without turning yellow.

Zep wax application

I guess I didn't explain very well. I am going to apply Zep Wet look floor wax on my 2003 National Dolphin LX. I tried every cleaner and wax I could find and nothing really worked except me. I finally used New Glass 2 and the coach came out beautiful. I started reading about the Zep product and thought for about a third of the price of the New Glass, why not? I have been unsure about what people have used to apply the finish. My wife suggested using a swifter mop with one of their dust cloths (similar to a micro-fiber). We'll see in a couple of days, and I will post the results. If somebody has tried this let me know how it worked

I used it and used the rayon mop as the directions suggest and it turned out great. 4 coats, just make sure the roof is clean before putting it down.

I use a microcloth and a spray bottle and just hand wipe it on. You don't need much, spray onto the microcloth and wipe on, it takes at least 3 coats, I generally use 4 or even 5 in some sections, Just wait 10 minutes between coats. Remember, it is a coating, any dirt you don't clean off will be coated over. For me it took 35 hours to clean my motorhome and 4 hours to wax, the first time. I have used it for 4 years now. I apply a new coat every year. I have stripped my rear cap once using the ZEP stripper, due to peeling, then reapplied. Still looks like new. Never had yellowing, only peeling. Never put it on my roof, only my sides. I don't consider it a last ditch effort, instead I look at it as a once a year wax that is easy to apply. Bugs and dirt come off easy and even easier when it is freshly applied. So I will put a new coat on the front cap before a long trip in the summer. I have found out, that dawn dishwashing soap will work to clean the RV but tends to take off a small amount of the finish. I now only use turtle wax car wash soap.

How hard was it to strip Zep off the sides.
I have some peeling on the side and back. I was thinking of cleaning and adding a few coats of zep over the peeling area. Has anybody tried this yet?

Zep makes a stripper that will take it right off
