First RV dent needs fixing

Our friend Benny is currently in our Motorhome and he has just had a small accident that has left the RV with some scratches. Most of it can probably be polished up (we think) but a few of them looks, on the photo's that he send, like they have gone through both the clear coat and the paint. In one spot a minor adjustment of the panel shape may be called for.

I have tried to Google for on of the mobile scratch repair vehicles that I have seen on the road. The ones that will do touch-up and even do minor bumps. However, I have not had any real success.

Benny is currently around St Augustine in Florida. Would any of you know of any "touch-up Doctors" around here?

Also, does anyone have any good or bad experiences with having things fixed this way?

I live in Orange Park. Florida, which is sort of between St. Augustine and Jacksonville. Smooth a dent ( smoothadent.com) is the only one I know off the top of my head. St. Augustine is a small, very touristy city. You would probably have better luck searching online for places in Jacksonville or Daytona Beach. These are much bigger cities and St. Augustine is right in-between both of them. Good luck!

Henrick, I think "friend Benny" would be demoted to "FORMER friend Benny".

Well - sometimes things don't go as planned. I think Benny had a fencepost jump from the side of the road, and it kept leaning on the side of the MH for a couple of yards. What can you do?

What can you do? Have Benny held fully responsible for the repair, including getting pricing from a body shop. I don't know about you, but a $500.00 repair bill is not in MY budget right now particularly if someone else caused the damage.

Henrick, is this your MH, and is Benny your wife's pet name?

Just curious.

Henrick, I know, but you need to get at least a pound of flesh out of Benny.

The MH also belongs to my friend. He is a Danish guy who I worked with for years in Denmark and England. He used to live in Canada, but have now moved to Thailand. He doesn't come to the US that often and because he drives alone, he don't have the luxury of someone helping him in and out of tight spots.

Accidents can happen to anyone, and I don't hold this mishap against him. Live and let live. I am sure that he will do what he can to repair the damage.

He will more than likely attempt to fix it. I had my mh damaged by a dealer who didn't tell me about it.

Call your insurance company...

The insurance carrier will have a database full of authorized vendors in that area.

If you do not have insurance and loan out your unit that needs to change.

Even if you do not have the specific coverage your carrier's customer service still could look up the vendors they use.

Tell him not to dawdle over it. I think we all have a few dings and scratches we can tell stories about. I know I have.
