Flojet Macerator pump problem and info

I recently bought a Flojet Macerator pump and when I attempted to use it I found that the bayonet fitting on the end of my sewer hose could not be turned into place.
I badly needed to use so it so in desperation I connected the hose without the o-ring which was supplied in a plastic bag in the case.
The pump worked beautifully and didn't leak a drop. I called Xylem who now owns Flojet. (Xylem is now owned by ITT) and spoke with product support about the problem. It turns out the only problem is that they didn't label the bag containing the o_ring as "Extra".
I put my reading glasses on and sure enough there is already an o-ring in a groove. Maybe younger eyes would have spotted it but my older ones didn't. He did say they get a lot of calls about the issue.

When I did a Google search for Flojet's phone number it was pretty frustrating. I got all sorts of companies like Tecnica Fluidos,Jabso and Xylem but no phone number for Flojet, not even on the Xylem site.

I finally found a number on the instruction sheet but Flojet is no longer in that building. The lady there did give me the new phone number.

So for anyone wanting to contact Flojet the number is :949 608 3900

Did you put a face cover on before you pulled the valve. Great story, thanks for sharing. And thanks for the phone number.

I was a little leery about it but tried the gray valve first just in case. That didn't leak so went ahead with the job.
