I replaced my carpet last fall with a laminate from Home Depot that looks like ceramic tile. The white brightens it up and made it look new again. Pics of the new flooring can be seen on my website: www.steveheadley.com
I had the main slide to deal with, but it worked out OK. I was sooo glad to get all of the carpet out of there. The laminate is easy to keep clean. I replaced the carpet with new carpet in the cockpit area and bedroom.
