Flow through sensors (507) compared to 510 Sensors

In my continuing search for the right TPMS System another question comes to mind. I am primarily looking at the TST TPMS. Does anyone have any experience with the flow through sensors? Are they as dependable as the traditional 510 sensors?

The flow through have only been available for about 3 to 4 months. So doubt anyone has good information on reliability.

I have been using flow through valves since July last year. They work great to quickly verify pressure using a gauge. But they are a hinderance to adding air using your compressor. They greatly restrict the volume of air you can add, so it takes MUCH longer to inflate from say 90 to 100 PSI. It works, just like 5 times slower.
I actually unscrew them if I have a lot of air to add.

I have found the same issue with adding air.

I have found them to be equal in reliability as my old 510 sensors. Put them on this past summer (June I think) and now have between 8,000 to 10,000 miles on them. I find with these sensors just like the 510 sensors they do not provide actual tire temps they provide ambient temps. After a day of driving (600 miles or so) they continued to shows temps which matched the ambient temp of 37 degrees.

I like that you can change out the battery without sending them back.

TST gave me a trade in allowance on my old 510 system. They shipped the new system and on receipt I shipped the old system back so I was never with out a TPMS.

The new seniors have a set screw on the side. The set screw takes a 1.5 mm allen wrench. The supplied allen wrench is cheap. The first time I removed the sensors the allen wrench rounded off. I have not used the set screw since (4000 + miles) and the sensors remain tight.
