Fluid analysis for a gas class A
I read a lot about people getting fluid analysis on diesel rigs - engine oil, transmission, generator oil, etc.
Are there similar tests for gas rigs and generators? If so, are they beneficial in sorting out the condition of the MH and gen engines?

Black stone labs will do it. I've sent in the oil from my SAAB. You'll have to look into it to see if it's worth it to you or not.

Absolutely, all fluids are about the same with the exception of engine and gen. oil.

Everyone will have an opinion that's different. Myself, for engine (gas) I believe its a waste of money. Transmission and differential however is different. Both of those components can benefit for REGULAR analysis. The key being regular. For the amount of miles most people put on their units, having them done on a semi-annual will let you know early if there's an issue. Early is good and a lot cheaper in most cases. Higher mileage users generally should sample every other oil change. It is having the baseline numbers that makes oil sampling worth the money, if you don't do it regularly, don't expect it to magically find any issues down the road.

I'm torn on the sample issue. Most all RVs need fluid changes and if done on time or mileage are very reliable. So I don't do samples. A question I have for those that do, has the testing save you anything.

Like Buzz57 mentioned, do it annually and have a baseline to go off. For the $28 odd dollars it cost, why wouldn't you. Especially if you plan on keeping your RV for many yrs.

I get it for diesels - more components that can go wrong - oil coolers, after coolers, etc. My thinking is one of the best things you can do on a gasser (eng or gen) to confirm things are as they should be is to do a compression check.
You can do it yourself w/ an inexpensive tester and can repeat to see any trends. Comp check not as easy on a diesel. Mfg specs available for all engines as a guide / comparison.
Cost for analysis is around $25/ per + shipping - I'd rather spend that on more frequent oil / filter changes.
For tranny - unless you suspect problems I'd opt for changing fluid to synthetic and following mfg guidelines for fluid / filter changes - visual check of drained fluid for particles/ filings etc after draining & let settle in a clear glass container
Just my thoughts & practices - others may disagree.
