Focal Wood Response Time

I called Focal Wood and left a message 2 weeks ago and repeated my phone number a couple times and have not heard back. How long before they return your initial call about ordering a piece of furniture? Do they have so much business that they don't need more?

Call the local BBB and inquire if they are still in business, since they are not returning phone calls.

Seems a lot of businesses are run this way and it makes you wonder how they stay in business. With all the means of communication these days it is something that gets worse all the time.

Since I have not yet purchased from them - and I may not, that might be overkill.

Focal Wood Products is owned and operated by an Amish gentleman, Carlyle Lehman. He does not have an office staff who answer the phones. My advice would be to call again and leave another message. He normally will answer calls within a day or two. He could be extremely busy and if he is in the shop he would not be able to hear his cell phone ring. He has always been very busy when we have been there. He did a custom cabinet for us and it took awhile, but it is gorgeous and he did it exactly like I wanted. Call him again. . . who knows, maybe the message was garbled and he couldn't hear it all. Contacting the BBB (I'm not sure Nappanee even has one) is not going to accomplish anything. Certainly not appropriate in this instance. He is totally off the grid operating a 20 kw generator and has a lot of work and a lot of satisfied customers. Making a complaint before you have even talked to the man is not the way to get him to do custom work for you. If you are in the area, he is easy to find, his shop is next to his home. But, like I said, call again.

I don't know what happened to your callback, but he called me back within 1 hour of my call. Very pleasant and helpful, and I think he has what I need!
