Found delam on my class C
Checked on the rig under the rv carport and pointed out to DH that the cab area right under the side window had a little separation at the seam. Needless to say, he was all over it! Took it apart...and yes, rotten luan and Styrofoam.
Took that all out and decided that this was the time to also address a bubble on the sidewall at the end. Took the bedroom closet out and cut through the wall...same problem. That is all cut out now and replaced with plywood. A piece from top to bottom, about 18" wide.
After studying all your posts about how to fix it, he called and started ordering a lot of the suggested stuff. Clamps, epoxy, eterna bond tape, new vinyl insert tape, double stick, etc.
After speaking with Winnebago, ( not much help). They said the whole sidewall has to be removed at the tune of mega $$$$$ thousands!
So, the project is under way now and so far so good. We may need to ask you for advice along the way, especially when it comes time to glueing. That cannot be done in this temperature, until it warms up.
Some of you have posted pics and videos about this and how you fixed it and I just want you to all know that it was a tremendous blessing to us and Thank God my DH is a good DIY' fer!!
BTW, we could not believe how they knowingly cut corners to save a dollar when they made this. (We have a 2002 Minnie Class C) big problem, they were!
