Fresh water system problem
A couple of months ago I'd get up in the morning and the fresh water pump was running. I'd turn on a the galley sink valve and get lots of air mixed in with the water and after a few minutes normal water pressure & flow. I replaced the water pump and am not having the same problem but still have air in the water line no matter which sink, commode, shower, or basin. Now when I get up and turn on the water I get a very slow flow and after a bit the pump will come on and bring the pressure & flow up to normal but it still has some air in the system for the first couple of minutes or so. I've checked all the connections and fittings I can get to and they seem tight and no sign of leaking. This doesn't bother me very much but my wife thinks I should have fixed it by now. Anyone have suggestions?

Find out where the air is coming in. You are either sucking air between the tank and pump or leaking water between the pump and sink. Bad either way. Small leak or you would know it already.

Yes, no doubt about it suckiing a little air - I am hoping someone will post something along the line of "On mine I found this little whatchamacallit behind a thingamajig located near the framastat". Certainly I'll keep looking and digging around to find the source of the problem. Thus far haven't found any moisture on the pressure side of the system so probably somewhere between the tank and the pump but??

Bob ... have you tried using the "winterization" hose in a large bucket of water and setting the selector switch to "divert" ...
After a few hours this should help you isolate where the air is entering your system

Thanks, I'll give that a try - I'm about two days from home and will work on it there.

When I first bought my new to us coach I had to shut off my water pump at night because every time some one would move it would turn on and we would also get air every once in a while. My buddy's didn't do that. I found that I had a cracked check valve on my water heater (cheap plastic), replaced it and no more problem. It took a while to see that I was leaking water since the leak wasn't that bad at first, then it started coming out of the bottom of my coach, I thought it from running the air conditioner that is located in the same area.

I don't know if this is the cause of mywater pump problem but I did find the hand held rinse device for the commode was cracked. Also found the relief valve on the back of the commode was cracked. I must have done a lousy job of draining the water lines at some point last year. Parts are ordered so after I've installed them I should know if I still have the same problem.

As a follow up the problem was in the winterizing valve/hose/connections. I bypassed that portion and no longer have the air getting into the system on the pump running.

So a bad valve between pump and water tank?
