Fresh water tank

My water tank is slowly filling up with water. I need to know what to look at repairing in order to stop the water from filling this holding tank. I have a bad water pump which I stopped using because it would leak when using it off the grid. I have used the water bypass valve to fill the water tank in the past so both are suspect. Do any of you have any experience with this problem or can someone give me some helpful advice?

I don't know what rig you have (signatures with this information are very helpful) but sounds like you have nailed the two typical ways for water to get into the tank. I assume you are connected to shore water when it is filling? Do you have a pressure regulator connected (maybe the shore water pressure is super high??)?

Most likely cause is the check valve in the water pump has failed and is allowing water to pass through to the water tank. You need to put a valve between the waterpump and the tank or replace the waterpump.

Mine was doing that recently and I just exercised the three way valve (sends water either into the tank or the coach plumping) a few times and it began working fine - maybe some debris in the valve.
