Fridge only runs on propane when on auto

Just bought a 2014 Winnebago Vista and noticed that even when on shore power the fridge is running on propane. The fridge is set to auto and I checked that it in fact receiving 120v. That all checks out. Any ideas?

Checked that is is getting 120V AC.....????

WHat does that mean?
Outlet that fridge power cord plugs into has 120V AC
OK

Did you remove cover on lower circuit board and verify that the AC Fuse is intact and that you have AC on both sides of that fuse?
Probably a 5A glass fuse

Post BRAND/MODEL of fridge for specific info.........lots of models and although they are similar they do have different controls/circuits

The cord where the fridge plugs in has 120V AC. I’ll recheck the fuses and get the other info

Fuses are good. I’ve attached a couple pics with info you asked for. There is 120 V where the cord plugs into the board as well.Click image for larger version

Probably can't manually switch to 120 VAC - usually just have an "AUTO" and a "GAS" position (other than OFF).

Probably has a bad electrical heating element.

Any flashing/blinks of the ON light?
This link explores the same issue with several testing procedures

You checked fuses.......??

Is that the Fuse ON the circuit board.....5A GLASS fuse???

Here is what your circuit board looks like W/O the cover.

5A GLASS fuse lower left area on circuit board

***You have to unplug following to remove cover
*AC Power Cord
*DC Power Leads + and -
*Spark Electrode Wire

That fuse is AC Power ONLY
IF blown....then electric heater element has shorted

There is a 120v fuse on the circuit board that could be blown. If it is, no 120v power the fridge can see. A blown fuse there usually means the electric heat element(s) is burned out as well.

So after taking it apart I found that the glass fuse had been removed as it was obvious the previous owner had been in there. Replaced the fuse and tried it. Same result except now the power light blinks every few seconds. The fuse did not blow. Would have been easy to diagnose if it did but it is still intact after several tries. If I set the fridge to gas only the power light stays solid green and the gas lights. If I put it on auto the gas lights after a few seconds and the green power light flashes every few seconds.

I’m thinking there may an issue with the board. Any thoughts?

I believe the blinking of the lights also are giving a code by the number and period between blinks. Not sure but others will know. Check the link in my previous post. If so, the code should help narrow down the issue.

There are 5 different faults indicated by ON LED flashing....depends on nmer of flashes within number of seconds
Back up operation....that is a bad thermistor (not your issue)
Mode Switch Failure....faulty upper display/optic board (possible issue)
AC Heater Failure......Bad element (possible)
Controls failure........Faulty power board..lower circuit bd (possible)
No cooling detected...bad cooling unit/faulty heat sources (not your issue

See pg 8 troubleshooting ....then check the suggested cause/effect listed

After going through all the steps listed in the troubleshooting manual everything points to a bad board. Resistance for water heater within tolerances. Luckily I have a friend who works with circuit boards. I’ll give that a try before I replace it as I imagine that will be a few dollars.

So ON LED was flashing 4x every 3 seconds?

Or 3X every 3 seconds?
