I do not have a front plate as Michigan does not issuse them no problems yet, if your state requires a front license plate then the choice is not yours you either have to display it or accept the responsibility if you get a ticket for non display.

I drilled holes and installed a frame for my Washington State plate, It's the state law to have one.

You can buy some 1/4" moly bolts and make mounts like my MH has. No plate required in AZ.

Auto parts stores may carry plate brackets of various kinds. Some of the metal ones can be flimsy and rust-prone, though.

Charliej, it depends on the state that your registered in. California does require a front and rear license plate. I don't know about other states. I suggest you call the highway patrol in the state your registered in.

None required in Fl. I used to have a Bahamas plate which turned out to be quite a conversation piece. I now gave an Alaskan plate there and still draws a lot of conversation.

If your state requires a front plate, chances are a given LEO will cite you eventually if it isn't displayed. I know Texas will.

If the state requires them, do they specify the exact placement of the plate? If not, in the windshield would work, then when in the CG just lay it down on the dash.

Just thinking and I know that is dangerous!!

Keep the second plate with you. I doubt you will have problems unless you run into an LEO who has a lot of time on his hands and hates RVs. Here in AZ we get two plates but are only required to show one in back.

Ours is in the windshield (class A). There is a bracket to slip it into. I looked up WA state law and it is specific to location (no more than 3' up, as I recall). But there was also a statement relating to if there was a place to mount it. Since we bought our used and the plate has never been mounted on the bumper, I figure we are OK.

Needed to add a front bracket to a previous coach (08 Georgetown). Was able to mount through lower grill, as I recall, with long bolts and no need to drill holes.

I drive a 2002 PT Cruiser I bought new. I am in Washington that requires a front plate. Some day I might install the front one but haven't so far.
