have a 2004 georgetown se with a fuel line problem. seems the fuel is leaking from the 8' hose going from the inlet filler tube to the gas tank.the hose is 1 3/4 id dia. and is rubber composition. should it be made of metal?

kaptkronos, You are suppose to have a rubber fuel filler to tank hose - not metal. There should be metal hose clamps on both ends that attach the rubber hose to the metal filler tube and the fuel tank. If these clamps are not tight or have slipped off the tank or filler tube connections, then they would leak. If the rubber hose has a wear spot that has worn through the hose, then the entire hose should be replaced and new clamps installed, after finding and repairing whatever caused the hose to rub and wear a hole through the hose.

I have a 1967 Ford pickup that has the same problem off and on, the difference being that you can smell it because the gas tank is behind the seat!!! The hose needs to be rubber because of the flex between the filler and the tank, but it will begin to leak and need to be replaced at some point...
