I have a 2000 Georgie Boy Workhorse Chasis. I was backing up and hit a bump. Turned off engine and the fuel pump quit running when i tried to start. Also my steps will not come out when i open door. Thinking a fuse but don't know which one. I checked several and all ok. Please let me know where to look for fuses.

As for the engine starting I would look for the inertia switch. This shuts down the fuel system in a accident. Sometimes a bump will do the same. I will be in your book where it is.

i looked in book cannot find where inertia switch is located. Anybody know please let me know. A friend said the same thing about inertia switch just can't find it

Most cars have an inertial switch that shuts off the fuel pump in an accident, but I was not aware that a Workhorse chassis has one. Can anybody confirm that?

Ron - are you sure the fuel pump is not running or is that just a guess as to why it won't start?

Seems odd that the step quit working at the same time the engine problem began. Since both are electrical, maybe the problem is a fuse or a damaged wire. Was the "bump" a pothole or did you perhaps strike something with the underside of the chassis?

the bump was a pot hole. the fuel pump is out now i am trying to see if there is an access hole to get to fuel pump in the tank. Hose clamps for vent and fill line are above hose no way to take them off.

Before I would go to that much trouble, I would make sure there is power going to it. A pot hole can trip the fuel shutoff sensor. There is a reset button that is usually hidden real well, on trucks it's sometimes under the drivers side dash, in cars they put it in the trunk. The owners manual should show the exact location. I'd try that first.
