Is it just me?
On a recent trip, I made my share of fuel stops.

I have experienced this in the past, but it seems to be getting worse. You pull into the Pilot, Flyn-J or what have you and follow the signs for trucks and RV's only to find diesel pumps only. Some Flyn-J's have both gas and diesel but not always. The gasoline pumps are in another location that is almost impossible to get to and if towing it really gets tuff manuvering around the cars to get to an island that is most always 90 degrees to the entrance with little or no chance to exit without unhooking the toad.

The good news is there are more and more new fuel/gas stations or remodeled old fuel/gas stations that are putting in pumps and parking areas that are specifically made for RVs! I rarely have a hard time getting up to the pump and exiting anymore. Not to say it doesn't still happen occassionally, but more and more fuel/gas stations are catering to RVers.

Don't know about Pilots, but at the FJ's the signs for the diesel-only island says TRUCKS and does not mention RVs at all. The RV sign always points to the combined gas/diesel islands. I don't recommend that island for a large RV, though. I always use the truck island myself.

I have a gas rig so have to use the usually car islands. I also have a 37 foot rv pulling a dolly with a pickup on it. I have yet to find a station I could not pull thru. Usually always use the end islands although I have used others. And I have had my fair share of tight corners but have managed to pull thru it.

I use the J almost exclusively for fuel. I have never seen a sign for trucks and RVs. The signage is for trucks and another sign for cars and RVs. The RV islands have both diesel and gas. Like previously posted, I use only the truck islands due to my length. The RV islands are, for me, a safety hazard.

On edit, the J at Sefner, Florida has one set of islands for trucks and RVs (gas and diesel). This is an anomaly. The place is a zoo. I stop here only if it is an emergency. The J at exit 275 is much better.
