Has anyone heard if the Goodyear G670 RV tires have been discontinued? During the past two weeks I have emailed Goodyear twice for information on them and have not yet received a reply. In Dallas, I have checked at Discount Tires and Goodyear dealers and none of these outlets have them available. Even Camping World does not carry them in their catalog. Camping World and Discount Tires both carry the 245/70R 19.5. I called Camping World in Denton, TX and they carry the G670 RV tires but don't show them in their catalog or flyers.

I now have G159 Unisteel 245/70R 19.5 and need to replace them. I've heard many good things about the G670 RV tires, but am wondering why they aren't available. Were they having problems? I don't want to spend $2,000 plus for something when there could be a potential problem.

I'm very disappointed that Goodyear hasn't answered my emails re the G670 tire.

I would appreciate hearing from any one who has had experience with Goodyear MH tires 245/70R 19.5-F; or if anyone has heard if the G670 is being discontinued.
Thanks,
Larry

I bought two 245/70R-19.5 tires about a month and a half ago. Put them on the front & really like the ride, Handling is just a bit better than the G-159s I'm running now. The Goodyear WingfootCommercial Tire dealer in Brunswick Ohio keeps them in stock & is $100 a tire less than CW which is just across the road from them. Paid $241.92 per tire I suggest you find a Goodyear truck tire dealer & Im sure you'll find the G-670s your looking for. They have definitely not been discontinued. Great tire, Great ride.

I just replaced one on my 2004 Terra 32S, Workhorse P-32 Chassis. I had 4000 miles on it when I started getting a low speed thump (left front). Spun the tire and could see a high spot in the tread.... I took it back to a Godd Year dealer and was immediately told that my front end was out of alignment and my wheel bearings were shot. I told them I thought that seemed odd :-) since the coach only had 4000 miles on it. I asked them if they thought it could be a tread separation? They had Good Year inspect and replaced it for free. It's funny how no one takes responsibillity for their products anymore. The other tires seems to be okay.

The G670 tires have not been discontinued. They have had some problems with out of round tires. We had one like that out of a set of six. But they are a great tire and from what I hear they seem to be solving the roundness problems.

When we purchased our first two G670's for our coach the Wingfood (Goodyear factory commercial truck store) said none were in FL. I then contacted the district rep and he "found" 140 in our size in a FL warehouse. Moral is to ask for the district Goodyear representative for your area and they will get the tires.

Kirk, How recent was their out of round problem? I just replaced our oem tires with G670 275/85X22.5 and the dealer tried 3 times to spin balance them. They could not correct the vibration until they put the Equal crystals in them. I can still feel a slight roughness. I wonder if I also have an out of round tire.

Doug

I knew Goodyear had problems balancing the G159's but wasn't aware they were also having problems with the G670's, interesting.

Went to a Goodyear seminar on tires at the FMCA Glass Rally. Learned a bit about tires specifically about aging. The figure 5-7 years for replacing tires does not come from the tire manufacturers but from the RV industry. They claim (GY) the G 670 tire casing is one of the truest casing they have ever produced. What interested me was that these tires are guaranteed for 5 years from the date of purchase, not the date on the tire this includes all the tires used on trucks & RVs. The trucking industry can recap at will for a period of 5 years & may do this 4 or 5 times during that period. Of course one thing that was stressed was do not run tires underinflated. As to the condition of a tire he said the best way to check a tire was by feeling it to see if there were any bumps, cuts, cracks etc. on it. I had been a bit worried about buying tires that were a year or more old, but he said that if stored without being inflated that this wuld not hurt the tire. He has been a factory warranty person for a good # of years. They have done tests on weight balancing versus equal & unless moisture is present in the tire neither one has an advantage over the other.
