I know the Pilot credit card makes an offer but I suspect the gas is that much or more higher at Pilot! I am with you - wish there was one that made sense.

My Costco AMEX card gives me 4% back on gas purchases.

Pentagon Federal Credit Union has a 5% cash back right on the month's statement. Anyone can join. Several threads here via search and/or check their web site. Use it in conjunction with Good Sam swipe and save at Pilot/Flying J.

Hi Cola ny,
There are many choices for CCs with cash back. Google "cash back credit cards" and there will be many choices. Now all these cards have fine print that, for me, make them useless.

I use the PFJ card. Off the cash price I get 8 cents on diesel and 6 cents on gas. For those who continue to whine and cry about PFJ prices, I have found PFJ to be the price leader not the price laggard in an area. With the easy in and out along with the other services they offer I encourage you to consider this card. It works for me.

I second the Pentagon Federal (PenFed). It takes 5% right off the statement each month. At $3.50 a gallon that's 17.5 cent off per gallon.
You do have to get a CD with them. Just go on-line and look up PenFed and got to products.

Good Sam's card saves you some at Flying J and Pilot. That's what I use. And Discover - which also gives cash back on all purchases. Works well, just pay off the balance on the Discover every month so you aren't paying any finance charges.

I think Walmart still gives 3 cents per gallon by using their Cash Card or the Walmart Discover card. I buy $100 gift cards and use them to but gas. Eddie Elk.

Filled up at Flying J I85 Exit 102 SC with Diesel. Price at pump was $3.799
Swiped my 3% off Bank of America Visa CC & then my Good Sam 3¢ discount card.
Total price a gal $3.655 or 14.4¢ off.

My P/FY Good Sam Plus card with off the cash price 8¢ on diesel and 6 cents on gas.
Sits in my file cabnit.

This fall I will replace using the Visa CC for the Discover 5% off.
But unlike the Visa that doesn't have a pump cutoff, the Discover has a $75 limit of 2 times.

Publix grocery stores periodically advertise $50 gas cards for $40 with $50 grocery purchase. There is a choice of brand name stations. We spread our gas costs out this way and 20% savings is pretty good.

PenFed......Not 3 cents off or 8 cents off, but 5% off. That's 20 cents a gallon on a $4.00 purchase price. You can use all of your other discount gizmos and then charge it on the PenFed card and again.....get 5% off, not 5 cents, plus your other discounts.

Their only requirement is that you MUST pay at the pump.

We have a AAA Visa card that gives us a 3% or 5% discount for up to $60 of gas a day. You do have to swipe it at the pump.

Is there a limit on the Penfed card? Month, year, per purchase, just on gas? I have for years run everything through a CC for rewards. and at near 6 grand average per month we are talking a fair cash back reward.
