have a Winnebago 33ft. Adventurer,on w20 chassis,w/GMVortec 8.1 engine.
Am getting 7.5 mpg w/o toad and 6.8 with.
Speed is kept at 62mph.
Just talked to a motorhome delivery person who claims to get 10-12mpg on a new(2005)38J w/same engine and trans.
Is anyone getiing better than 6-7.5mpg?
If so,how?
Thanks for thwe replies.

I wonder what that guy was smoking when going down the road! I tend to get 7.5 at 62 which seems to be the magic number with the Allison and 8.1, at least according to the milage i9ndicator on the instrument panel

I just wanted to add the following incite about the commentary that you received from the MH delivery person. Just down the road from the Rally Park here is Seffner, FL is place called "Fantasyland". Perhaps the gentlemen was born there.
The figures that you quote are pretty much what everyone else is getting. You are doing just fine.

Budster,
I have the same rig as you and drive about the same speed. I average 7.5 mpg pulling a toad. Your mileage is OK.
