I think I have that gas separation thing going on. My engine pings and looses power up hills. I bought gas last march and have added gas to it with higher octane since, plus stabil and seafoam. It's a 55 gallon cocktail now and still not potent. I found a station that still sells real gas without ethanol and I guess I'll sputter around until I get below half a tank and then fill up with unleaded 91 octane (no alcohol) and see what happens, any thoughts?

Water and water/ethanol mixed is heavier than gasoline and will settle out to the bottom of a container. If you are lucky enough to have a drain plug on the bottom of the gas tank, it is easy to drop a few gallons and get rid of the bad stuff. The alternative possibility is to raise one side of the vehicle and suction out the gas tank bottom with a weighted pick up on a hose attached to a small hand or drill operated pump.

I have been using Lucas Ethanol Treatment with pretty good results.

I tried star tron and I think it helped. I also topped off the tank (6 gallons) with real gas, no ethanol. I'll run it up and down the hwy avoiding any big hills because it still pings on hills and use up half a tank or so and then fill it up with the real stuff . there is a website about who sells real gas Find ethanol free gas near you! .
