After attempting the roller and tip method then an airless sprayer, defaulted to the tried and true (for me anyway) pressurized sprayer. Cleaned up my 20 year old HVLP spray gun, cranked up the air compressor and away we went. Sprayed at 45 pounds with 15% thin on the paint. No top/clear coat, one of the reasons I went with this paint. And of course it had great reviews from the marine folks working with fiberglass. One problem is it does take time to fully cure, needs 24 hours between coats. Thin coats work best and 3 gave me good coverage. And last item, if I wasn't in the southwest with perfect weather (no wind, rain, humidity, etc.) would never have attempted this as a backyard project.

For the diyers out there, letms all try not to be afraid of our spray guns. I have a small touchup gun, and a bigger gun that I. Used to paint the camaro 5 years ago. The bigger gun is a non hvlp that I bought at wallmart... cough cough.

Even after doing a show quality paint job on the camaro, those spray guns have scared me to death.

Last week I had to paint a new fender on the jeep. Broke out the spray gun and got er done. Piece of cake, even in base coat clear coat.

In the future, I'm gonna try real hard not to be scared of my spray gun.

Gel Coat Problem

We have a 2013 Forest River Blue Ridge 3710BH. Forest River- Prime Time denied my claim for them to re-do our Cap and one of the sides due to fading and bubbling. They said we were out of warranty too long. This problem just started with our unit because we took it out of storing and it was in our driveway for the summer. I have read that they are aware of this problem because they used a faulty product when they did the trailers. They did a recall and said their only cover certain trailer case by case. If anybody else is having a problem please contact me at marilyn3@cox.net. It is funny they just covered other work on our slide that had come out on I12. The slide problem was caused because when our trailer was manufactured they forgot to weld the brackets to the slide and screw the top brackets to the floor of the bunkhouse. Please let me know if anybody else is having this problem. Thank you
