I was just informed that the stator windings are shorted out on our NP66G generator. 14 years old and only 157 hours (documented) on the motor. Is there any way to find a replacement stator for this genset?

Sadly, the amount of hours on your gen 'is' the problem... they need to run to stay healthy.

I believe the cost to re-wind any stator would be cost prohibitive.

Hi Deicher - a quick Google search will turn up several sources. One I found says the part number for that Stator is 87845H (Stator, Genrac RV) List price, $725.70 and being discounted down to $358.02. A bigger question is who is going to pull the genset and replace the stator? I would check out the Genrac.com web site to find a qualified repair facility near you.

Good luick and when you get yours repaired, run it a minimum of 1 hour per month at 50% or higher load - with generators, more running is better than less!!
