I have a 77 Winnebago Cheifton with a Kohler 4500 power plant. I recently had the thing up and running and it worked just fine. However I currently can not get her back up and running.

I have a full tank of gas and I can get gas down the fuel line to what appears to me to be a fuel pump to pump the the gas to the carb but if I pull the fuel line on the out side of the pump I get no gas to pump out thus no gas to the engine.

could this mean a bad fuel pump? Is that a fuel pump? There is a wire that comes out of what I believe to be the pump...could it be a electrical problem?

It is so frustrating since I just had the thing working fine

Sounds like a bad fuel pump. However, how much fuel is in the Winnie tank? The intake stick for generators sometimes only goes down to 1/2 tank, more often to 1/4 tank, to prevent the coach from running out of gas. So maybe it's not picking up fuel because it can't reach it?
The wire from the fuel pump should be energized with at least 10vdc during your generator cranking; test it with a voltmeter.
Fuel pumps can go bad with no notice or prior symptoms; often a ruptured rubber bladder inside. However, most genny pumps are not ordinary automotive fuel pumps (low psi on genny models). A Kohler dealer would be your next call for a rebuild kit or pump.

If it is somewhere in the fuel supply line; and has a couple of wires going to it; it's probably a fuel pump.

While the fuel pump might be defective, the first thing I would want to check, is whether any electrical power is being supplied to the fuel pump when you crank the engine. It could be something as simple as a blown fuse on the control board; or corroded electrical connections that need to be cleaned up.
