Here is a good one for you all, the wife and I went away for a while to Mexico (flew, no motor home) so I disconnected everything before we left. I had forgot to tell the neighbor (didn't even think of it actually) that the generator may start by itself. Well, it did, and he called the police thinking someone was staying in it while we were gone. Police came, I was told that they surrounded the motor home and demanded the person inside come out. Well after no one answering (generator still running)not get this of all things to happen, the generator shuts off while they were there. You guessed it they broke in, I understand guns drawn, to find no one there. They could not get in the door, (good to know) a ladder was next to the garage and they broke a window. It must have been really exciting around there. I had to share this with you all. It's funny and not funny. Damage was to the toon of 675.00. And to top it off I received a bill from the Sheriffs Department for 1200.00.

YosemiteBobR,
I own a 2004 Dolphin 5342 which we resently purchsed. Why did the generator start by itself? Ours has never started by itself even when the batteries went dead because an interior light was left on by mistake. Is yours wired special or is it because it's the LX?

Steve, mine came with a Freedom Combi 2000. I liked what I saw in another piece of equipment, so I had it changed to a RS2000 Sine Wave Inverter/Charger also a three stage charger as the Freedom is, but, I can add the Xanbus AGS (automatic generator start) along with a temperature sensor for each battery and it is programmable in a way to set the AGS to come on at a particular low voltage to recharge the batteries automatically, also it is temperature sensitive to cut off the charging if the batteries get too hot. This is all in case I make the mistake of letting them get to low in the first place (as I did when we went to Mexico).
