My generator won't start or turn over now. When I push the starter button the generator just buzzes. I just had a new radio installed and am wondering if they messed up the wiring? When I press the remote start button inside the mh, the radio power goes out until I release the button. Do I need to go back and have it fixed or was this just a coincidence? HELP!

Sounds like you might have your battery-disconnect switch engaged; and the only power to the gen starter is coming from the converter.

Battery disconnect switch? This is our first mh and don't know what/where that is. Any suggestions on where to look?

It could also be weak batteries.

After messing around with it all day, I discovered that: the satellite radio is plugged into the cig lighter, if I unplug it, the generator works fine. Don't know why that works, but thanks for the info from all of you. Bob

From your symptoms, I would say that either the batetries are very low or something is drawing excessive current. Clearly you do not have enough DC power available to run the radio and start the genset and that is flat wrong. Maybe the radio hook-up was a short somewhere? It should not be drawing so much power that there is insufficient to start the genset.

I wonder if the polarity is reversed on the radio hook-up? Or maybe on the cigarette lighter itself? Mine coach came from the factory with the wires reversed on the cigarette lighter. That won't bother a heat device like a lighter, but electronic devices may be sensitive to polarity. The center pin on the lighter (and any device plugged into it) should be the positive (+) wire.
