I'm going thru the process of getting 7000 kva Kohler diesel generator on my Monaco Executive running again after the start switch in bed room stuck in engaged position burned up the starter and fried a bunch of wires. Wiring harness from the Gen control box to Kubota engine is around $1300 (sits right on top the gen) and the control box is about $900 and about another $800 labor. Local RV repair shops no nothing about testing or repairing, they only want to replace everything. Since I had nothing to loose I replaced the wires one by one and tested the 2 relays in the control box (both good) and now I'm at the printed circuit board with all the pretty little diodes, resisters and others thingies that I don't know squat about. Couldn't find anyone who would touch it with a 10 foot pole. Playing around on the internet I came across "Flight Systems Inc" Lewisberry, PA, having flown C 130's in the Air Force for 19 years, some of our little black boxes had the same thingies inside them. I called them (717 932-9900) To my surprise they said if you can take it out and send it to us we can bench check it for $15 and repair it for about $75 if needed. They don't sell or carry parts, they can only test and repair. That was good enough me. Sent it to them ($5) They had it tested and back to me in 5 days ($20 shipping and testing) (it tested ok) I'm posting this because there might be others out there would could use this kind of service.

Good to know! I did the same thing with my clean-top's oven controller. Brand new would have been 400, had it rebuilt for 75, including shipping.

Thanks! That is now in my Rolodex (I know, a historical device). $15 for any PC board checkout, that is worth knowing about..... Thanks....

I believe they sell aftermarket boards or at least they used to. I bought a replacement board for my 10kw diesel Onan three or four years ago from them. Very good company to deal with.
